Stay connected, get involved!

During SI Alumni Forum in Pune we will officially launch the Sweden Alumni Network India with local chapters. This event targets alumni in India who are interested in being engaged in local chapters. Sweden alumni from different Swedish universities and alumni from the Swedish Institute leadership programmes will attend the forum.

We are looking for alumni who are willing to dedicate some time and energy on a voluntary basis to running local chapters in the different cities in India for at least a year. During this event we will connect you with each other, with the Swedish Institute, with Swedish companies and the Swedish foreign missions.

This 1,5 day event will offer inspiration on how we together can make a change and how a strong network of alumni can bring personal and professional development to its members. The program offers key notes by Swedish organisations and fellow alumni as well as workshops on leadership led by the Swedish Institute.

Participants have been selected based on the motivation given in the application form. We will strive for equal gender representation in the board of each chapter. The chosen participants are offered accommodation and all meals included for the two days of the event.

What does it mean to be a part of a local alumni chapter steering board?

By sitting in the steering board of a local chapter within the Sweden Alumni Network India you contribute with time and ideas on how alumni can come together to create a positive impact on your local society and for your members' personal development.  Alumni networks around the globe have three purposes:

  • to offer a platform where you can stay in touch with Sweden and the Swedish Institute
  • to help you get to know people who had the same experience and share the same interests as you
  • to work together for sustainable development in your local context

By sitting in the board, you are part of the executive group that decides on the focus of your chapter, plans activities and applies for financial support from the Swedish Institute. It's fun, rewarding and we promise you will learn a lot!
